I started my photography journey in the pits of several local dirt racing tracks. Photographing the heart of the pit helps you to appreciate all the work that goes into getting cars race ready and at the same time entices you to try your hand at capturing the action on the track.
Two years ago I ventured into the infield where the adrenaline rush and challenge of trying to get a shot of a fast moving object and often in the "dark" has proven to be very rewarding when successful and completely disappointing when your viewfinder reveals a dark image of that "perfect" shot.
Trial and error is part of the learning curve for many things and photography is no different. Learning from others in the same respective field has definitely proven to be very beneficial for me. Taking photography classes and learning from other photographers has taught me that the Art of Photography is a never ending learning process, as well as, an endless opportunity to capture images of just about anything therefore my camera, more often than not, is my constant companion.
The camera I use is a Sony A700 with a Tamron 70-200 F/2.8 or a Tamron 17-50 F/2.8 lens. I have had the good fortune of having a few of my images published in a couple of popular racing magazines.
I enjoy taking photos of a variety of things whether it is for dirt racing, my own enjoyment, or at the request of others. I hope you enjoy the images in this portfolio as much as I enjoyed taking them.
