As a die-hard fan of the Weekend Warrior, if there isn’t dirt in my hair or floating in my Coke then it isn’t a typical weekend for me. I am totally addicted to and enthralled with dirt stock car racing especially when it comes to Dirt Late Models and Open- Wheel Modifieds. During the week I have the great privilege of writing for a couple of racing magazines about these drivers who are willing to strap themselves into a machine that can reach in excess of 100MPH to entertain fans like myself. Then on the weekends my husband and I visit several tracks through-out the year taking photographs of various kinds of dirt motorsports. I started my photography journey three years ago with a point and shoot that was small and perfect for an occasional pit shot or two. This year I began using a Sony A100 with a 3.5-6.3/18-200 lens and it works well for the pit shots I desire and occasionally I capture an action shot that I am pleased with, but for the most part I am the pit photographer and my husband is the one best suited for the action shots, so our photography partnership works really well. When I am not racing I enjoy photographing nature and the outdoors. With a desire to capture the “growing moments” of our three grandchildren I have begun to dabble in portrait photography and look forward to continue learning about the different aspects of digital photography.
